Our School Day

Introduction

Parents have a responsibility to ensure that their children receive full time education.

Regular attendance is essential if children are to progress with their learning.

The school day is divided into two registration sessions so, for example, one day of absence will be recorded as two sessions

We strive to ensure that each and everyday is a memorable and enriching learning experience for all of our children.

Our School Day starts at 8.45 am for all classes where we have registration and then a short assembly.

Lesson 1 starts at 9.00am followed by Lesson 2.

Break time is at 10.30am for KS1 and 10.55am for KS2.

Lesson 3 starts after break time.

Lunchtime is at 12.15pm

Afternoon lessons start at 1.15pm

School finishes at:

3.15pm for EYFS

3.20pm for KS1

3.25pm for Year 3 & 4

3.30pm for Year 5 & 6.

* Nursery have their lunch at 11.45am.

Notification of Absence

If your child is unwell and unable to attend school, we would expect parents/carers to inform us by 8.30am by phone or in person.

If we have no reason for the absence by 9.15 am the absence will be recorded as unauthorised unless we receive a reasonable explanation. We would also expect to be notified if your child has a medical appointment by 9.15am. Other planned absences should be notified to the school .

Punctuality

Lessons starts at 8.45am for all classes.

We believe that punctuality is an important social courtesy and regularly arriving late to school not only disrupts your child's opportunities for learning but those of the children in his/her class. Children arriving late must access the school via the school office where they are registered and the reason for his/her late arrival is recorded. Where the child arrives after registration has closed (9am - when the school gates are closed) the absence will be recorded as unauthorised. Late arrivals are monitored by the school and interviews will take place with parents where there is concernThe timings for assemblies are as follows:
